Swtor Guide – Swtor Trooper Progression

Last Friday over at Bioware they released the latest fan Friday update which was all  about the Swtor Trooper. Most people I speak to about Swtor classes and from what I read online many people are interested in playing Troopers in Swtor because of how powerful  and strong they look. The problem with any Star Wars game where you get a choose to play a as Jedi is that everyone wants to play as Jedi, Since Jedi are famous for being powerful and the most important characters in Star Wars.

I feel that this left a massive problem for Bioware to actually get players to role other classes apart from the force using ones, And I have to say that they have done a great job. From polls and others sources it generally looks like every class is going to have a decent amount of players playing them.

If you are the kind of person that likes big armor and huge weapons then the Trooper is going to be a class that you will love. The Trooper class is a leaders class and be a major player in all parts of Swtor. Being able to take huge amounts of damage and hand out some too makes them attractive. Their skills will be all about taking damage and buffing their team mates but depending on how you set up your Trooper they can be a decent damage class to.

For me it having a ranged attacker with great damage that is very hard to kill is unique to Swtor I haven’t played a MMORPG that offers a class like Swtors Trooper. And since Bioware have gave the tanks in Swtor a real purpose not only in PvE but in PvP I can see the Trooper being a really good class for players that like to be really involved with whatever is going on.

Swtor Space Combat

At the end of last year Bioware announced that Swtor would include space combat. But instead of being a full on flight sim or a map that players are free to move around on, It will be a tunnel shooter. I know that does not sound all that exciting but from what I have seen from the recent more polished videos and screens it looks a lot of fun. Bioware do not want to put to much into space combat right now so consider the space combat in Swtor as a sort of mini game.swtor space 300x168 Swtor Space Combat

Swtor space combat will be solo instances, Although group space combat and PvP space combat has not been ruled out but just simply it isn’t in the plan to be added for release. Bioware have tried to make a exciting instance that will have you on the edge of your seat. You will get to experience the kind of dogfights that happened in the Star Wars movies. This will include Trench running like at the Death Star, Massive explosions and fast paced dogfights.

The rewards for completing these Swtor space combat instances has not really been talked about. Although some of the space combat missions will be for storyline and others will be for rewards which one can only assume will include items and credits.

Bioware have discussed a open space combat in Swtor, it appears that when you need to go to another planet you need to fly there in your ship. There is room for some more space combat here I think, You may have to defend yourself whilst traveling to your next location. Although it is not confirmed It wouldn’t surprise me of this was added or has already been added.

Check out the video of Swtor space combat below, It looks like a lot of fun.

Swtor Trooper Advanced Classes

We spoke a while ago about the Swtor Trooper now it is time to take a look at the Swtor Trooper Advanced Classes. The Swtor Trooper is a going to play a important role in Swtor groups. Every Republic party will be in need of the services of a Trooper especially in Warzones. The Troopers will be responsible for taking the damage away from the lighter armoured classes. Although Troopers main responsible appears to be tanking damage, They are also very capable of dealing great damage to their enemies. This is due to the size and powerful of the weaponry that a Republic Trooper uses.

The First advanced Trooper class we are going to look at is the Vanguard. Vanguards are the more defensive class of the Trooper, They wear heavy battle armour and have great tactics for staying alive when taking lots of damage. Their skills will be focused more towards taking tons of damage and defending their allies. The Vanguards will also process the better party buffs for keeping him and his party alive during quests warzones etc. If you want to play a class that everyone is going to need and will be a lot of fun then a Vanguard should be considered. Due to their defensive nature they will play a key role in every big event.

Now we are going to look briefly at the Commando which is the second advanced class of the Swtor Trooper. The Commando is the more aggressive Trooper class and will be capable of unleashing massive amounts of fire on its enemies. Wielding massive blaster cannons the Commando can give out a large amount of constant damage and is looking to be one of the best DPS classes in Swtor. If course if any Trooper gets in too close to a melee using class they will be at a disadvantage but at range there is none better than the Commando for causing devastating damage. The Commando will also have party buffs like every Trooper does, But this buffs will be more focused on attack and will give the Commandos party extra power to destroy their enemies.

With the powerful and useful nature of the Swtor Trooper I am sure many Swtor players will be re-considering playing the Jedi or Sith they was planning on playing and taking on the role of a Trooper a real team players class.

Swtor Guide – Swtor Warzones

Last Friday a exciting video was released over at Swtor.com showing footage of a Warzone in Swtor. For those of you that do not know what a that is you are about to become a whole load more interested in Swtor. A Warzone is a battle between the Empire and the Republic over certain useful resources in the game. It is basically the main PvP aspect of Swtor and for players that love PvP it is l0oking very promising.

Warzones are mass PvP fights in which teamwork and tactics will decide the winner. You have to move around in groups attacking and controlling certain parts of the map. If you do this in a successful manner then you will win control over that area. For me PvP is everything when it comes to MMORPGs I play them to compete with other players around the work. We all put effort in to our characters to make them stronger. Warzones are a reward for the players that work the hardest and will reward you by letting you destroy other players with your hardened character.

Swtor Warzones are all about teamwork and great tactics. You will not be able to complete them successfully by yourself regardless of how strong your character is, But all the time and effort you put in to making your character strong will be rewarded in a Warzone.

It goes without saying that winning in these Swtor Warzones will grant you and your allies bonuses which could be items or XP. At the moment the only Warzone we know about is a 8 v 8 Team based PvP mission. We should also add that Warzones are only one of many PvP aspects to be introduced in Swtor.

Swtor Guide – Smuggler Advanced Classes Revealed

Bioware recently gave everyone a inside look at the Smuggler’s advanced classes. Right now less than 10% of gamers that are looking to play Swtor are planning to play Smugglers. We are wondering if these new Smuggler advanced classes will change the minds of those looking at playing other classes.

It is no surprise that the majority of players are going to play Jedi’s Or Sith classes. Because lets face it every one wants to use a lightsaber. But for those players that do not wish to play Jedi’s, Something needs to be there to make it worth there while.

Lets take a closer look at the Swtor Smugglers advanced classes and get a overview of what players will get from playing one.

The Swtor  Smuggler is one of the Rogue like classes in Swtor along with the imperial agent so we can all guess that at least one of the advanced classes is going to be a stealthy class. The Smuggler’s advanced classes are The Gunslinger and The Scoundrel.

Lets take a look at the Gunslinger first since this the more fighting class of the Swtor Smuggler. The Gunslinger is all about using his two blaster pistols to weaken his enemy. So you can imagine that Gunslinger’s will play a part in party play in Swtor. Such skills of the Gunslinger will include a slowing debuff to slow his enemies and a blinding debuff to lower the accuracy of his opponent. Of the two Smuggler classes the Gunslinger should boast the highest damage.

Now we can to the Scoundrel. This is the sneaky version of the Smuggler that relies on stealth to get by. Generally the Scoundrel does not wield two blaster pistols but instead uses one with the option of a scattergun for when his sneaky antics final. One addition that the Scoundrel has that no other known class does is a Stealth Belt allowing him to go invisible.

I would personally go for the Gunslinger but it is a hard choice since both sound like great classes that will be a lot of fun to play. There is also one known associate of the Smuggler. A Wookie called Bowdaar, Who is a warrior Wookie as hard as nails. Bowdaar a arena fighter that has never lost is said to be un-killable so I would say he will provide the needed backup and Tank for the Swtor Smuggler.

Check out the video below to see the Swtor Smuggler in action I am sure that you will consider what class you will play when Swtor finally arrives.
